The Mapletown Manor is an historic Italianate brick manor located in Osage, IA, and is the inspiration for the Mapletown Mercantile, which just three blocks away on Main Street. The Mapletown Manor was built in 1870 by one of the town’s founders. The Manor is open throughout the year for public events, venue rentals, tours, and more. A gift shop called The Cellar Shop was created to give visitors a chance to take home a souvenir, Victorian-style home décor, hand-crafted local items, baked goods, and natural candles and soaps. Recently the Shop expanded into its own physical retail building called the Mapletown Mercantile at 615 Main St. in Osage, just three blocks east of the Manor. The online version of the Shop is an extension of the Manor’s former Cellar Shop, and the current expanded version, now called the Mapletown Mercantile. Both online and in-person stores offer even more Victorian and vintage style products. The Manor's dark, moody and gothic style inspired the store's theme.
